One of the nice things about living in the Eastern Panhandle WV area is the events that take place during the year. This year there will be the 23rd year event for the various studios in the area.

This will be a scenic drive from Shepherstown to Charles Town thru Jefferson County. It is truly a day you will enjoy!
If you happen to be in the Shepherdstown WV area on October 13 you do not want to miss this event. This will be the sixth year in a row for this. There will be musical entertainment as well as live and silent auctions.
Admission is $50 per person. There will be a cash bar from 6 to 7 pm.
It will be held at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center.

Every year at about the end of October
there is a chenge in the weather. Also, the fall brings an eerie change in the air. The Apollo theatre in Martinsburg WV has been the scene of a special Halloween event.
They have created a haunted theatre event. There are many different horror movie themes. Also, many scary spooks appear in live action vignettes.
There are four separate events. At midnight there are hooror flicks on the weekend. There is trick or treat for the youngsters. And the adults will have fun on mischief night.
Many volunteers have been preparing for these events for several months.
The Apollo thatre is a non profit organization. Many fundraisers are held because the events do not generate enough money.
This year you should make plans to attend the events at 128 E. Martin Street in Martinsburg WV. The Haunted Theatre is from 7 to 11 pm Fridays and Saturdays through October 27. Midnight classic horror films Fridays and Saturdays.

The town is very excited about the heritage celebration
175 years of history and heritage will be celebrated Saturday October 6, 2012. Rodger Engle is a local author and he will be presenting accounts relating to his book, “Stories of a small town’ Rodger will share his experiences in Hedgesville during the years 1948 thru 1964. He will also be signing books and reading excerpts from his book. Rodger said he could not imagine growing up anywhere else other than Hedgesville, WV.
There will also be local civil war authors
Jim Droegemeyer and Steve French presenting stories about the civil war. This will be at the Naylor Library. Mr. French will be presenting at 11 am and Mr. Droegemeyer will be at noon.
There will be 24 artisans displaying hand crafted works. Also, a Love your neighbor giveaway will be at the Hedgesville Presbyterian church.
You will be able to bring a nonperishable item to donate to theBerkeley County Back Pack Program that will help feed more than 180 students.
Michael T., will be performing magic shows.
And there will be guided historic tours of different neighborhoods throughout town and several vendors will have samples of fall favorite foods.
